Drug Interactions

Dr. DiCenzo is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science at the University at Buffalo and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Infectious Disease Unit and the Clinical Pharmacology Unit of the Department of Medicine at the University of Rochester.

Dr. DiCenzo works as an educator and researcher at both Universities. His areas of interest include the pharmacometrics (PK/PD modelling) of antiretroviral agents in which he has worked on numerous AACTG projects. Other research experience includes clinical trials that study drug-drug and drug-dietary supplement interactions and the use of therapeutic drug monitoring in antiretroviral therapy. He is also the Secretary/Treasurer for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy PK/PD Practice Research Network.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Buffalo and his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the Albany College of Pharmacy, Dr. DiCenzo completed a fellowship in antiretroviral pharmacology and pharmacometrics under the tutelage of Dr. Gene Morse and Dr. Alan Forrest at the University at Buffalo.

Antiretroviral Assays

Ms. DiFrancesco is the Laboratory Manager for Pharmacotherapy Research Center's Core Analytical Laboratory in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Her speciality is the laboratory science area of clinical pharmacokinetics as it applies to servicing clinical studies. She possesses comprehensive skills in technical, managerial, scientific, and quality assurance aspects of administrating projects from concept to publication.

She serves as coordinator for the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) Pharmacology Committee's Quality Assurance Program, a laboratory specialist for the ACTG Laboratory Technologist's Committee, an instructor for Clinical Research Methods course taught at the University at Buffalo, the treasurer for the Northeast Regional Chromatography Discussion Group, and a technical trainer for Pharsight Corporation.

Ms. DiFrancesco received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology from D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY and completed her Medical Technology Clinical Program at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. She is a licensed Medical Technologist certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Her Masters in Business Administration (Public Tract - Health Care Services) was completed at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
