Certificate Program

The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Office of Postgraduate Professional Education provides services targeted towards all pharmacists who have completed a pharmacy degree. Programs include Continuing Education (on-line, live, and written), Alumni Affairs, a Non-Traditional Doctor of Pharmacy Program, as well as Certificate Programs.

Pharmacists may participate in Certificate Programs through the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in specific disease states by completing intensive continuing educational programming. Each program includes the completion of written materials, live interactive lectures, and focused clinical practice time. This time spent caring for patients, in a specialized clinic, provides pharmacists with the opportunity to gain "hands-on" experience applying advanced principles of pharmaceutical care. Each Certificate Program is intended to provide a foundation for clinical practitioners to develop into experts in the care of the chosen disease state. The Certificate Programs are well integrated into the Non-Traditional Doctor of Pharmacy Program, allowing pharmacists completing a Certificate Program to receive Continuing Education credit.

The HIV Certificate Program is presently available, with programs for Asthma and Diabetes in the initial planning stages. For more information regarding specific programs, contact the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Office of Postgraduate Professional Education, (716) 645-2828
