University at Buffalo-Novartis Fellowship

Practice or research specialty/focus of the position: Drug Development

Position Description

This newly created program offers a rigorous combination of professional experiences for fellowship candidates interested in clinical drug research from both academic and industry perspectives. The first year of the program is based at the University at Buffalo (Buffalo, NY) with the second year at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (East Hanover, NJ). This position will carry with it the academic rank of research instructor within the University at Buffalo and Clinical Pharmacology Scientist in the Clinical Pharmacology (Phase I/Pharmacokinetics) department at Novartis.

Required or Desired Credentials or Experience of Applicants

Completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited (or equivalent) College of Pharmacy or a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the Biological Sciences. A residency and/or professional experience is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of motivation and interest in drug development and clinical research.

Description of Institution/Organization

The Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has extensive experience with post-doctoral fellowships in Applied Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Drug Research. Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation has eleven years experience with a post-doctoral fellowship program focusing in Drug Development and Pharmaceutical Industry applications of Pharmacotherapy.
