The fellowship program offers opportunities in Phase I/II clinical
trials, population pharmacokinetics, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic
modeling, and therapeutic intervention trials focusing on adherence
and therapeutic drug monitoring. The fellow has the opportunity to
spend time in the Laboratory for Antiviral Research (LAR) and become skilled
in drug assay procedures, data analysis, pharmacokinetic analysis, and
statistical methods. The LAR is a designated Pharmacology Support Laboratory
for the Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Group and a component of the UB
Pharmacotherapy Research Center. The fellow will have opportunities
to participate in concept and protocol development, as well as IRB
submissions. The fellow also has the opportunity to prepare abstract
of submission to peer reviewed scientific meetings, prepare manuscripts
for publication and learn the grant application process.
